Electrical Repairs

Find the real cause, fix it properly, prove it’s safe

Most electrical faults have a simple symptom and a less obvious cause. A breaker that keeps tripping might be a failing appliance, a damaged cable behind plaster, moisture in an outdoor socket or a circuit that is simply overloaded. Resetting it again and again only hides the problem.

Our electricians use structured fault-finding — isolating circuits, testing insulation resistance and checking every connection on the affected run — so we repair the cause, not just the symptom. Before we leave, the circuit is retested and you get a plain-language explanation of what went wrong.

What’s included

Warning Signs

Signs you need an electrical repair

If you notice any of these, stop using the affected circuit and call a qualified electrician. Electrical faults rarely fix themselves.

Burning Smell or Scorch Marks

Discoloured faceplates, a hot plastic smell or melted plugs point to overheating connections that need urgent attention.

Breakers That Keep Tripping

Repeated trips are a protective device doing its job — the underlying overload, short or earth fault still needs to be found.

Flickering or Buzzing Lights

Persistent flicker, buzzing switches or lights that dim when appliances start can indicate loose neutrals or failing fittings.

Warm or Loose Sockets

Sockets that feel warm, crackle, or no longer grip plugs firmly should be replaced before they arc.

Mild Shocks or Tingles

Any tingle from a tap, appliance or switch suggests an earthing problem. Stop using it and call us immediately.

Partial Loss of Power

When one room or one group of sockets goes dead, there is usually a failed connection or damaged cable on that circuit.

Our Process

How we approach every repair call

1

Listen & Make Safe

We ask what happened and when, then isolate the affected circuit so your property is safe straight away.

2

Test & Trace

Insulation, continuity and polarity tests pinpoint where the fault sits — no guesswork, no unnecessary wall chasing.

3

Quote & Repair

You get a clear price for the fix. Once approved, we repair or replace components with quality, compliant parts.

4

Retest & Explain

The circuit is fully retested, and we explain what caused the fault and how to prevent it happening again.

Why Choose Us

Repairs done once, done right

We carry a well-stocked van of common breakers, RCDs, sockets, switches and cable, so most repairs are completed in a single visit. When a part has to be ordered, we leave the installation safe and tell you exactly when we’ll be back.

Root-Cause Diagnosis

We fix why it failed, not only what failed — so the same call-out doesn’t happen next month.

Fully Equipped Vans

Common parts on board mean fewer return visits and less time without power.

Tested Before We Leave

Every repaired circuit is retested and recorded for your peace of mind.

Questions

Electrical repair questions

Resetting once is fine. If it trips again, leave it off and unplug appliances on that circuit. Repeated resets can damage equipment and hide a dangerous fault.

Many repairs — a faulty socket, switch or breaker — take under two hours including testing. Tracing an intermittent fault can take longer; we will keep you updated as we go.

Diagnosis time is included in our call-out. You approve the repair price before any work beyond diagnosis begins.

We use testing to narrow down the exact section first. If access is needed, we keep openings as small as possible and can recommend a decorator for making good.

Yes. We handle repairs in shops, offices, restaurants and small workshops, and we can schedule work outside trading hours.
